Welcome to another week! In case you missed the announcement yesterday, this newsletter will not solely focus on Houston sports anymore. Instead, we will give you the best Houston events and happenings each week.

☔️ Weather looks quite rainy this week and chilly, so expect to see some events shut down and the traffic get heavier. Let’s pray for bright skies!
Events
Last week for Ice Skating 🛼 at Discovery Green (ends Sunday, Feb 2). See more info.
Tickets are $18 which include skates and 75 minutes of skate time
Monday’s (this Monday 5-10pm!) is half off for $9

Evelyn’s Park has a family friendly activity every morning during the week. If the kiddos like art, bubbles and activities you should check it out here.
Free soccer at Woodchase Park, friendly for all skills. This happens on Monday and Friday a 4pm. Tuesday and Thursday there is chalk art and a scavenger hunt at 4pm. See more info.

Chinese New Year Events
Chinese New Year is this Wednesday the 29th. It’s the year of the snake, symbolizing wisdom, elegance and intuition.
Wednesday, January 29th.
Stomping Grounds is having Free appetizers and performance 6-8pm. See more.
Jun restaurant is having a special dinner, “Lu is teaming up with Suu Khin, or Burmalicious, to celebrate their Chinese and Burmese roots on Wednesday, January 29, with an exciting four-course dinner for $110 per person. Diners can add an optional wine pairing for $55. Reservations are required.” See more.
Kazzan Ramen is giving away little surprises with each dinner, “This Heights ramen shop is ringing in the Lunar New Year in an explosive way. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, every table dining receives a red envelope with a surprise inside.” See more.
River Oaks District, “is hosting a duo of Lunar New Year performances. Watch the Soaring Phoenix Dragon Dance … at 3:30 p.m., and close out the festivities with the Acrobatic Tier Jong Show on Saturday, February 15, at 2:30 p.m. Both events are free.” See more.

Guided nature hikes at Houston Arboretum Saturday 10am and 11am, for 45 minutes each. And Free! (see info)
Saturday 11am, Sunday 12: Fine art print fair at Houston Museum of African American Culture, free general admission here.
Saturday 2-7pm: R&B and Ribs at Space Cowboy - 100 West Cavalcade Street Houston, TX 77009 - featuring, well you guessed it, food and DJs. See more.
