Below you will find events and other things happening in and around Houston area, plus events to look forward to in March!

Monday

Artechouse - Emersive Art Experience combining technology and art (now - March 31st) - “Three unique artistic experiences all reveal our universe through the latest in experiential storytelling. Colored Carnegie Dance Performance Tues/Wed/Thurs 9:30 am - Kid Friendly and free for 5th graders - “Colored Carnegie was inspired by Black Houston and conceived and directed by Harrison Guy as part of a commission by Performing Arts Houston that premiered in November 2021. The show was choreographed by Harrison Guy and Dancers from Urban Souls Dance Company with music by Dr. John Cornelius and set design by Edgar Guajardo.” - see more

Line dancing social - 6pm - “Join us for a night of boot scootin’ footloose style fun! Strut your stuff in your favorite western outfit & boots! We will meet on the dance floor at Nichols Venue at 6pm to learn some line dancing moves and dance our hearts out!”

Houston Rodeo Bar-b-que contest (through March 1) - “More than 250 teams compete in the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest. While most team tents are invitation-only, visitors can enjoy several public venues, including The Garden Stage, sponsored by Miller Lite, Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon and the Chuckwagon. Plus, the Carnival, presented by First Community, is open for wild rides and fun games.”

Houston vs Salt Lake volleyball game - 7 pm - “Cheer on the hometown team, LOVB Houston Volleyball, as they face LOVB Salt Lake!“

Dragons and Mythical Beasts Live - Family friendly event at 6:30 pm - “Calling all brave heroes! Enter into a magical world of myths and legends in this fantastical show for all the family.”

Friday Feb 28th

Roller Rink Opening Day 5-11pm: Enjoy music by Soul Control featuring DJ Elevated and Mookie Copeland serving up quality eclectic musical experiences! The Daisies & Pancakes skate community & skate instructors will showcase their epic talents. The first 50 skaters in line skate for free!- see more

Go Texan Day at the Houston Rodeo - “Go Texan Day is the unofficial kickoff of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and when the entire Houston community is invited to celebrate Western heritage and to raise awareness of Rodeo season. Wear your western attire–such as jeans, cowboy boots and cowboy hats–for this all-day celebration on Feb. 28, 2025! Kick things off with us in downtown Houston at Rodeo Roundup from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. After that, watch the Trail Rides make their way into Memorial Park, then meet us at the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest for an evening of good food and good music. It’s a full day of activity on Go Texan Day!”
