🎉 What is Cinco de Mayo?

Cinco de Mayo, observed on May 5th, commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, the triumph became a symbol of Mexican resistance and pride, though it’s not Mexico's Independence Day (which is September 16).
In Mexico, it’s mainly celebrated in Puebla with parades and reenactments, while in the U.S., it has evolved into a broader celebration of Mexican-American culture. Festivities often include music, dancing, food, and community events, making it a day to honor heritage, resilience, and the contributions of Mexican culture to American life.
